Introduction

Zimmet tracks physical assets for teams that work in the field: drones, sensors, vehicles, tools, and the parts inside them.

Zimmet is Turkish for the record of who an item is entrusted to. Custody is central to the product: every item has a custodian, and handing it to someone else is a confirmed, recorded event.

  • Model your equipment. Define types with their own labels (serial number, firmware, capacity) and the components they expect (“a Drone has 1 GPS and 2 Batteries”).
  • Build assemblies. Install items inside other items, swap and move parts, and see at a glance which units have empty slots or a faulty part.
  • Keep documents where they apply. Attach a datasheet to one item, to every item of a type, or to every item with a given label value. See Documents.
  • Hand items over with a paper trail. Custody handovers are confirmed by both sides, along with the components and the condition.
  • Work from a phone. Every item has a QR label that opens the field view.
  • Talk about it in context. Comments on items and types, with @mentions, #code links and replies by email.

The store actions in the app map roughly 1:1 to the API endpoints the backend will need. See Store actions.
