Comments and notifications
Comments
Section titled “Comments”Items and types have a comment thread. Comments support:
- Replies to a specific comment.
@Namementions, which notify that person.#codelinks, such as#gps_002, which link to the item.- Comments from components: an option on the item page that also shows comments posted on the parts inside.
Each comment shows where it came from: the web app, via email (a reply to a notification or a message to the item’s inbound address), or after QR scan (posted from the field view).
Watching
Section titled “Watching”Watch an item to be notified about comments on it and parts installed in it.
Notifications
Section titled “Notifications”The bell in the header lists your notifications. You are notified when:

| A watched item gets a comment | Watchers |
| An item turns faulty | Watchers and admins |
| A part is installed in a watched item | Watchers of the parent |
| You become an item’s custodian | The new custodian |
| A handover is offered to you, or your item is requested | The confirming side |
| Your handover is accepted or declined | The person who started it |
Admins can switch individual rules on or off in Settings. See Email.
Notifications are stored as data, not as sentences, so each person reads them in their own language.
