Documents
Manuals, datasheets, calibration certificates and flight logs belong next to the hardware they describe. Zimmet attaches documents at three levels:
| Scope | Applies to | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Item | One item | Calibration certificate for gps_002 |
| Type | Every item of a type | Drone user manual |
| Variant | Every item of a type with a given label value | Datasheet for every GPS Module with Model = M8N |
Variants save you from attaching the same datasheet to forty modules. When a new M8N module is created, or an existing one is relabelled, it picks up the right documents automatically.
Where documents show up
Section titled “Where documents show up”An item page groups its documents by scope (this item, this variant, this type). It also lists documents from its components, so the drone’s page includes the GPS datasheet. The field view does the same.
Documents (/documents) lists everything, with filters.
File kinds
Section titled “File kinds”The kind is detected from the file extension and used for the icon and filters: PDF, image, spreadsheet, text (.txt, .md, .params, .log, .json, .yaml), archive (.zip, .tar, .gz, .7z, .ulg, .bin) and other.
